The Book of Joshua
What did Joshua do?	He led the Israelites into Canaan after Moses died. He knocked down the wall of Jericho with 7 rams horns, Arc of the Covenant, and marching around as God instructed Joshua.
The Book of Judges
What happens after the Israelites turn away from God?	God sends JUDGES. One of the first was Deborah, a woman.
What is the story of Samson?	Samson was a Nazarite, someone consecrated to God (couldn't shave hair, touch anything dead, no strong drink). Delilah cut Samson's hair and he lost his consecration to God which represents the Israelite nation during his lifetime.
1 Samuel
What is the story of Samuel?	Hannah prayed to God for a son and she had Samuel. Samuel grew up with a priest, Eli. God called Samuel three times and he responded, "Speak LORD, for your servant is listening." Samuel became a prophet and led the Israelites. God anointed Saul, but God took away Saul's blessing so he led Samuel to Jesse's house in Bethlehem for David as king (youngest of 7, like Joseph)
What is the beginning to the story of David?	David was born in the tribe of Judah. He was a musician, poet, herder, warrior, leader, judge. He fought Goliath & won. All his courage came from relying on God always.
2 Samuel
What continues the story of David?	David becomes King & he forces the Philistines out. He takes over areas ruled by Canaanites. Jerusalem became a political & religious capital so it became The City of David. The Arc of the Covenant was brought. He killed Bathsheba's husband but God forgave him.
1 Kings
What is the story of Solomon?	David died and his son, Solomon, became the King. He got wisdom from God & saved a child's life. He made treaties, made alliances, and brought the Arc of the Covenant to its permanent home of the temple he built in Jerusalem.
Essays
Explain in detail the story of how Jericho's walls came down.	7 priests blew 7 rams horns and they marched around Jericho once for 7 days. The Israelites were shouting and brought the Arc of the Covenant with them. The walls of Jericho came down because this is how God instructed Joshua.
Explain the life of Solomon and tell why it is important to our life.	Solomon was the son of David. When he first became king he asked God for wisdom. With this wisdom, he saved a child's life. He built the Temple of Jerusalem and put the Arc of the Covenant in the sanctuary. Wisdom is important because wisdom is judging right from wrong which lets us into Heaven.
