Definitions

PA law includes a family expense statute that makes both spouses liable for the expenses of the family
"Support" means care, maintenance and financial assistance.
In PA, married people are liable for each other's support in proportion to their respective abilities to provide it.
To get support, a spouse must show the he was financially dependent and the the spouses were separated with adequate legal cause at the time of the request for support.
If the dependent spouse's conduct provides a ground for divorce, then the obligation to pay spousal support ends.
