What is the Fortune bet?
The Fortune bet is an optional bonus bet on the casino game Pai Gow poker. The Fortune bet considers the best hand possible among the player's seven cards and is
reconciled against an approved posted paytable. Dealers hands do not qualfy.
What are the betting limits on the Fortune bet?
Depends on the casino. However in most casinos, Players may bet any amount within table limit.
What is the "envy" button and how is it used?
A Fortune bet of at least $5 qualifies the player for Envy Bonus payouts. Players win the Envy Bonus when a player at
the table receives a four of a kind or higher, excluding the dealer and his/her own hand.
Briefly explain the Fortune bet reconciliation procedure.
While reconciling the standard Pai Gow poker wagers, the dealer also reconciles Fortune bonus bets by rearranging the player's hand if necessary to win the Fortune bet. If the player's hand qualifies for payouts, the dealer pays the player according to the posted paytable. If the player's hand does not qualify for payouts, the dealer takes the player's Fortune wager. In both cases, the dealer will not pick up the envy lammer(s) until all wagers have been reconciled.
When does the Envy bet win?
If at least one player has a four of a kind or higher, all players with envy lammers win.
Can a player win the Envy bet more than once?
In the event more than one player has at least four of a kind, then all players with envy lammers win multiple payouts.
Does the Envy payout go toward the aggregate table payout limit?
The Envy Bonus payout is not an odds-based payout and therefore it is not subject to an aggregate limit.
What hands do not qualify for an Envy payout?
A player cannot win the Envy Bonus for his/her own—or the dealer's—hand.
If one of the players are banking the game, can his hand qualify for the Fortune payout?
Yes. Only the dealer's hand (house hand) is excluded form the Fortune bet. But the player/banker cannot win the Envy bet on his own hand.
