1st Amendment Freedom of religion, speech, assemble, and the freedom to address the Government. 1791
2nd Amendment The right to bear arms. 1791
3rd Amendment Soldiers can't demand housing in a time of peace. 1791
4th Amendment No searching in your home without a warrant or a reasonable cause. 1791
5th Amendment Right to remain silent. You do not have to give evidence against yourself. 1791
6th Amendment Right to trial. Right to attorney. Right to know the evidence against you. 1791
7th Amendment Can only go to court once for a crime. 1791
8th Amendment No cruel and unusual punishment. 1791
9th Amendment Government cannot take away your rights even if it is not mentioned in the constitution. 1791
10th Amendment Protects states from the Federal Government. Each state is separate. 1791
11th Amendment Citizens from another state cannot sue other states. 1795
12th Amendment Use electoral college to elect the President and Vice President. 1804
13th Amendment No slavery of any kind what so ever. Violators will be punished. 1865
14th Amendment All citizens have freedom to life, liberty, and property. 1868
15th Amendment All citizens have the right to vote. 1870
16th Amendment Congress has the power to tax your income. 1913
17th Amendment Election of senators every six years. No term limit. 1913
18th Amendment Prohibition = No alcohol. 1919
19th Amendment Women have the right to vote. 1920
20th Amendment "Lame Duck Amendment"
If the President dies, the Vice President becomes the President. January 20th is Inauguration Day. 1933
21st Amendment Alcohol is now legal in the United States.1933
22nd Amendment Limit President's maximum number of terms to 2 terms. 1951
23rd Amendment Washington D.C. cannot vote for senators and has 3 Representatives. 1961
24th Amendment No poll tax. All states abolish taxes or test in order to vote regardless of race. 1964
25th Amendment Vice President takes over automatically and picks a new Vice President. 1967
26th Amendment 18 year olds can vote. 1971
27th Amendment Restraint on Congressional Salaries. 1992
