Unity | the feeling of wholeness or the part belonging together, which we accomplish by employing the elements and principals of art correctly. |
Emphasis | when one area in work of art stands out more than another, the part that catches your attention first and it can be any of the elements, color, line, etc.. |
Variety | the use of different lines, shapes, and colors in a piece of work |
Contrast | the difference created when elements are placed next to each other in a work of art |
Movement | the motion created in a work of art, often uses the principal of rhythm to achieve this |
Rhythm | the repetition of lines,shapes, or colors to create a feeling of movement |
