Rhythm Sensation of time and movement in music

Bridge A section used for contrast, requiring one more section following to complete song
Interlude Instrumental music between sections that have lyrics
Coda A section at the end of the song, may have a repeating pattern that fades
Scale A series of musical tones ascending/descending in order of pitches

Genre Category of musical composition characterized by a particular style

Avant Garde An intelligentsia that develops new concepts
Intelligentsia Intellectuals who form an artistic, social, or political vanguard
Bohemian A person, such as a writer, living an unconventional life
Bourgeois Marked by a concern for material interests and a tendency toward mediocrity
Eclectic Composed of elements drawn from many sources
Art Form A creative act that springs from the artist's experience as it reflects against society
