Digestion The process by which the body breaks down food into smaller pieces that can be absorbed by the bloodstream and sent to each cell
Stomach Recieves food, churns it, and adds gastric juices to it
Liver Produces digestive juice called bile
Esophagus food passage way between the mouth and the stomach
Small Intestine Absorbs useable food substances which are sent to all body parts and blood vessels
Large Intestine Stores unused solid substances after water is removed
Pancreas Produces digestive juices to further break down food in digestion
Periphernal Nervous System The nervous system outside the brain and the spinal cord
Central Nervous System The complex of nerve tissues that controls the activity of the body. In vetebrates it comprises the brain and spinal cord
Brain The command center of the nervous system
Spinal Cord A long bundle of neurons that relays on messages to and from the brain and all other parts of the body
