olybaseball2 : Study hall is boring
Jose3 : wow
Isabel4 : I'm taking a poll. Who thinks that in "The Man of La Mancha" the "spot" has to do only with where he comes from and who thinks that it also symbolizes that he is a stain on society? Sorry, I just had to ask my nerdy question.
katechan : I don't think he is a stain on society, actually. He is bigger than that - he is a symbol of how society treats the eldery, how indifferent the leaders were to the common people during that time, etc. (A little similar to Gulliver's Travels, if you are familiar with that story.) In fact, I think it is the exact opposite - Don Quijote is NOT the stain on society - rather society is the STAIN. :)
Isabel4 : That is a WONDERFUL point! The Gulliver's Travels comparison is a good example. I hadn't thought of it that way before....THANKS!
mixmastermoore : i think i get it now
