Proportion An equation stating that two ratios are equal.
Extremes of a Proportion The first and last terms of a proportion.

Simplified Rational Expression A rational expression in which the numerator and denominator have no common factors other than ±1.
Geometric Probability The probability of an event is based on a ratio of geometric measures such as length or area.
Least Common Denominator The least common multiple of the denominators of two or more fractions.
Polynomial Long Division A method used to divide polynomials similar to the way you divide numbers.
Rational Equation An equation that contains one or more rational expressions.
Rational Function A function that can be written as a polynomial divided by a polynomial.
Hyperbola The graph of a rational function.
Center of a Hyperbola The point (h, k) in the graph of the rational function f(x)=(a/x-h)+k.
Asymptote A line that a graph approaches; The distence between the graph and the line approaches zero.
