Connective tissue - binds and supports other tissue, not as tightly packed
Loose connective tissue - binds epithelial to underlying tissues, made of all 3 fiber types also have fibroblast and macrophage cells
Adipose tissue - stores fat, padding, insulation, fuel
Fibrous connective tissue - dense, tendons and ligaments
Cartilage - strong, somewhat flexible, collagenous fibers in a matrix of chondroitin sulfate
Bone - mineralized connective tissue, made from osteoblast cells
Blood - has ECM of plasma and RBC and WBC
Nervous tissue - senses stimuli and transmits signals, made of neurons
Muscle tissue - made of muscle fibers, actin and myosin proteins, smooth, skeletal, and cardiac types
smooth muscle tissue involuntary movement, walls of internal organs, spindle shaped, contract slower and longer, moves food down digestive tract
Loose (skeletal) muscle tissue voluntary movement, striated, myofibrils
Cardiac muscle forms contractile wall of the heart
