Earth's interior | Deep Mines&wells were apart of the methods that scientist use to study the earths interior. Another things scientist used to study with would be earthquake waves., four specific layers: inner core: innermost layer, made of solid iron, pressured, hottest part of Earth outer core: lies above inner core, made of molten metal, slows down seismic waves, liquid iron mantle: largest layer, thickest layer, solid, but flows crust: outermost layer, thinnest, contains Earth's features |
Earths Crust. | One of the most important layer would be the crust. Which is in the center of the earth. Also, its a dense ball with solid iron crystals. |
Earths Mantle. | The uppermost within the crust that forms a rigid layer called the crust. Also the lower mantle is made up of just rock. |
geomagnetism. | the magnetism of the earth; also known as terrestrial magnetism. The branch of science that deals with the earths magnetism |
Lithosphere | the solid, outer layer of Earth that consists of the crust and the rigid upper part of the mantle. |
asthenosphere | The solid, plastic layer of the mantle beneath the lithosphere; made of mantle rock that flows very slowly, which allows tectonic plates to move on top of it |
magnetic field | the region where magnetic force exists around magnets or electric currents. |
core | a bar of magnetic material (as soft iron) that passes through a coil and serves to increase the inductance of the coil |
nickel | a metallic chemical element that looks like silver and is somewhat like iron. Nickel is hard and used as an alloy and in electroplating. |
observation | use of the senses to gather and record information about structures or processes in nature |
magnetosphere | the magnetic field surrounding the Earth that deflects charged particles from the sun |
inner core | a dense sphere of solid iron and nickel at the center of the earth. |
