CON OF MODE?

Low information (doesn't take into account any other values in the distribution of scores)

PRO OF MODE?

Most useful when dealing with nominal data

CON OF MEDIAN?

Does not take into account the magnitude of other scores

PRO OF MEDIAN?

May be more representative when there are a few scores that are much higher or lower than the others (outliers)

CON OF MEAN?

takes into account MAGNITIDE of scores (makes it susceptible to outliers)

PRO OF MEAN?

the effect of an independent variable on a dependent variable averaging across the levels of any other independent variables.

Between-subjects design?

The comparison is between two or more different groups of subjects

within-subject design?

changes within the same subject on different occasions. In a within-subjects design, each subject serves as his or her own control or standard of comparison
