Puberty The physical changes that occur to the body during the period of life when a child changes into an adult.
Adolescence The physical, mental social and emotional changes that occur during the period of life when a child changes into an adult.
Scrotum The outside pouch that contains the testicles.
Penis The male reproductive organ; also the male urinary organ
Testicle The gland in the male that produces sperm.
Epididymis The storage area outside the testicle that stores mature sperm.
Vas Deferens Either of two tubes that allow sperm to pass from the testicles to the urethra.
Seminal Vesicle The gland that produces the sugary fluid that nourishes the sperm.
Prostate The gland that produces fluid to form semen and transport sperm.
Cowper's Gland The gland that produces fluid to help with the mobility of sperm.
Semen A mixture of sperm and fluid.
Sperm The male reproductive cell.
Urethra (male) The tube through which urine and semen is released.
Ovary The female organ in which the egg cells are produced and stored.
Fallopian Tube Either of two tubes through which the egg, released from one of the ovaries each month, travels on its way to the uterus.
Uterus The pear-shaped female reproductive organ in which the fetus (unborn baby) grows and develops until birth.
Vagina The passage that leads from the uterus to the external genital organs.
Cervix The neck-like, narrow end of the uterus which opens into the vagina; it stretches to allow a baby to be born.
Urethra (female) The tube through which urine is released out of the body.
Egg The female reproductive cell.
Ovulation: The monthly process in which an egg is released from an ovary.
Menstruation The monthly flow of blood and tissue cells that occurs when the lining of the uterus breaks down and is shed.
Sexual Intercourse This occurs when a man places his penis into a woman's vagina thereby making it possible for sperm from the man's body to fertilize the egg in the woman's body. Sexual intercourse is an expression of love between a husband and a wife.
Aids Acquired Immune Deficiency Syndrome, which is a disease that attacks the body's immune system.
Sexually Transmitted Diseases Infectious diseases that are passed from person to person during sexual contact.
HIV Human immunodeficiency virus that is responsible for causing AIDS.
