MDD Major depressive disorder serious to severe depressive disorder in which the person may show loss of appetite, psychomotor retardation, and impaired reality testing
biopolar disorder mood alternates between two extreme poles; manic and depression
Dysthymia Chronic and severe depression for two or more years
specific phobia irrational fears of specific objects or situations ie...spiders, heights
social phobia persistent fears of scrutiny by others or doing something humiliating

Panic disorder Abrupt attack of acute anxiety that isn't triggered by anything specific..... extreme attacks of anxiety
GAD - Generalized Anxiety disorder Persistent anxiety. Feelings of dread and foreboding and sympathetic arousal
Obsession Recurring thought or image that seems beyond control
compulsion Irresistible urge to repeat an act or engage in ritualistic behavior such as hand washing
PTSD Disorder that follows a distressing event outside
Conversion Disorder - Somatoform characterized by major change in or loss of physical functioning, although no medical loss of functioning
Hypochondriasis - Somatoform people insist that they are suffering from a serious physical illness, even though no medical evidence of illness can be found.
Body Dysmorphic disorder - somatoform preoccupied with a fantasized or exaggerated physical defect in their appearance
Somatoform disorders something that one focuses on; actual social and financial problems or ones body
Dissociative disorders sudden, temporary changes in consciousness or self-identity
Dissociative fugue abruptly leaves home or place of work and travels to another place, losing all memory of past life
Dissociative identity Multiple personality
Paranoid Personaility tendency to interpret other people's behavior as threatening or demeaning. Mistrustful of others and suspicious but can hold a job
schizotypal personality peculiarities of thought, perception, or behavior, excessive fantasy and suspiciousness. Feelings of being unreal, or odd usage of words.... behaviors that characterize schizo are absent.
Borderline personality instability in their relationships, self-image, and mood, and lack of control over impulses. uncertain of their values,, goals, loyalties, careers, choices of friends and even sexual orientations.
anti-social personality show superficial charm and average in intelligence. Fail to learn to improve their behavior from punishment and don't form meaningful bonds with other people
Avoidant Personality unwilling to enter a relationship without some assurance of acceptance because they fear rejection and criticism.
Paranoid Suspicious, argumentative, paranoid, continually on the lookout for trickery and abuse, jealous, tendency to blame others; cold and humorless
Schizoid few friends; 'loner' indifferent to praise and criticism of others, unable to form close relationships, takes little pleasure from activities; no warm feelings for other people
Histrionic overly dramatic, attention seekers, easily angered, seductive, dependent on others, vain, shallow, and manipulative; displays intense, but often false emotions
Narcissistic grandiose, crave admiration of others, extremely self-centered, fell they are privileged and special, expects favors from others; emotions are not erratic
Dependant constantly needs assistance and reassurance, overly agreeable, can't make decisions, fears rejections, clings to relationships, fears separation; prone to depression and anxiety
