This shows that there was a strong global appeal for the movie. - In its opening weekend, as well as making $37 million from audiences in the USA, it made £6.1 million the UK and $3.7 million in Russia. Filming in New York was postponed until the end of July... - As Emirati authorities refused clearance for filming in the emirate. As a result, the Abu Dhabi segment of the film was filmed in Morocco. All four leading ladies and other cast and crew were photographed filming scenes in Morocco in November 2009, where they had originally planned to shoot for 13 days, which had to be extended to almost six weeks. The BBFC gave the film the following rating... - The film was classified '15' for strong language, sex and sex references. - The film was passed with no cuts made The film contains seven uses of strong language... - These exceed the BBFC's '12A'/'12' Guidelines which state that 'The use of strong language (for example, 'f*ck') must be infrequent' but are permissible at '15', where the Guidelines allow for 'frequent use of strong language'. There are two strong sex scenes in the film... - The first occurs at a wedding, when guests outside are disturbed by loud moans coming from a room above them, where two characters are engaged in some athletic intercourse. The bedposts bang against the wall and the shot widens to reveal the pair lying naked on the bed, him thrusting on top of her. The scene is strong, but is brief and comic in intent. - The second sex scene involves the same woman having sexual intercourse with a different man on the bonnet of a car. Again, there's a lot of orgasmic moaning and we see some thrusting male buttocks. However, the camera quickly moves upwards as fireworks explode behind them. Both scenes are permissible at '15' where the Guidelines state that 'Sexual activity may be portrayed without strong detail'. The film also contains some strong sex references... - These include a woman smoking a shisha in a suggestive manner and talking about having had 'four people in my bed'. - The woman also spots the members of the Australian rugby team and laments that there's "A whole load of testosterone from down under and I'm feeling nothing down under". - She also refers to a man she meets in the desert as "Lawrence of my labia". The man tells her that "If we were in Paris or Madrid, I would have my hand down your blouse, touching your nipples", before standing up with an erection evident in his trousers. - At '15', the Guidelines allow for 'strong verbal references to sexual behaviour'. There are a couple of references to drugs in the film... - With a character stating that he "had some peyote once in Arizona that blew my head off" and another man talking about "that summer when I got hooked on coke". However, it transpires he's talking about the soft drink rather than the drug. Distribution... - Sex and the City 2 was released on DVD, iTunes and Blu-ray on October 26, 2010, in the US and November 29, 2010, in the UK. - The film was distributed by Warner Bros. Pictures.
