Feudalism This is a government system where a king shares power with local lords.
The Manorial System This is a term which means, the life around the lord's manor.(the economy of the manor)
Vassal This is a noble who receives land from a king.
Fief This is the land that a king grants a local lord to use.
Serfs These are peasants that are bound to the lord's land.
Knights These mounted warriors serve the king and protect the lord's castle.
Feudal Lords and Castles and the Catholic Church These are the two most important organizations in feudal society.
Chivalry This is a term for a code of behavior for knights and noble women.
3 Field System with crop rotation Medieval society had this type of a farming system.
Guilds These organizations trained workers and provide a form of insurance for their workers. (like a union)
Freedom, job training, education, more pay, more jobs. This is a reason why a serf would choose to move to a town.
Apprentice You would refer to a trainee as having this title.
Serfs make an agreement with the lords. They can leave if the land is sold. They are free if they are away from the manor for a year. Slaves and serfs are different for these reasons.
Tournaments and Jousting These were used to prepare knights for battle.
The Roman Empire fell This was the primary cause for the middle ages.
500 -1500 The middle ages happened roughly between these years,
The Renaissance This historical time period followed the middle ages.
Crusades These were a series of wars between Muslims and Christians over the holy land.
