| Static Electricity | Occurs when positive and negative charges no longer balance. |
| Electric Current | An electric charge in motion flowing from one place to another quickly and invisibly. |
| Resistance | When a material does not allow electric charges to flow easily through it. |
| Series Circuit | A simple circuit where an electric charge can only flow in one path around a single loop. |
| Parallel Circuit | A circuit in which the electric charge can follow more than one path. The main loop leaves from and returns to the power source while smaller loops along the main loop provide more paths along which the electric charge can flow. |
| Magnetism | A force that acts on moving electric charge and magnetic materials that are near a magnet. |
| Magnetic Field | The area of magnetic force around a magnet. The shape of the magnet determines the shape of the field. |
