### Describe the PRODUCT OF POWERS property

To multiply powers having the same base, add the exponents.
EXAMPLE:
a(m) times a(n) = a(m+n)
NOTE: (a number) = exponent

### Describe the POWER OF A POWER property

To find a power of a power, multipily the exponents.
EXAMPLE:
[a(m)](n) = a(mn)

### Describe the POWER OF A PRODUCT property

To find a power of a product, find the factor of each factor and multiply.
EXAMPLE:
a times b(m) = a(m) times b(m)

### What is '0 exponent rule'?

A nonzero number to the zero power is ALWAYS 1!!!!!

### What is the rule for negative exponents?

First multiply the base by the negative exponent, the flip its position (if the product ends up negative and is the numerator, switch it and make it the denominator!

### Describe the QUOTIENT OF A POWER property

To divide powers that have the same base, subtract the exponents.

### Describe the POWER OF A QUOTIENT property

To find the power of a quotient, find the power of the numerator and the power of the denominator and divide.
