Cinquain | 5 lines of 2, 4, 6, 8, 3, 2 syllables |
Concrete poem | written in the shape of the subject does not have to rhyme |
Narrative poem | tells story, longer than lyric, has plot and characters |
Diamante | 7 lines, does not rhyme can use synonyms or antonyms, each line has a specific formula |
Acrostic | first letter of each line, read down, spells the subject of the poem, free verse, usually does not rhyme |
Free Verse | does not use rhythm or patterns |
Limerick | funny, 5 lines, 1,2 & 5 rhyme, 3 and 4 are shorter and rhyme, line 5 refers to line 1 |
