taiga, boreal forests It is made up of conifers such as spruces and pines. The taiga has a very dense forest and has cold climates.
coniferous forest forest populated by cone-bearing evergreen trees; mostly found in northern latitudes
mixed forest vegetation region that contains both coniferous and deciduous trees. It is a transition zone between the deciduous forest and the boreal forest.
grasslands A biome dominated by grasses and associated herbaceous plants.
savannas a region of grassland with scattered trees lying between the equatorial forest and the hot deserts in either hemisphere.
shrublands Tend to occur along coastlines, this biome have dry summers and wet winters, producing shrubs
mediterranean forests, woodlands, and scrub characterized by dry summers and rainy winters. Summers are typically hot in low-lying inland locations but can be cool near some seas, as near San Francisco, which have a sea of cool waters. Winters are typically mild to cool in low-lying locations but can be cold in inland and higher locations.
deserts and xeric shrublands is a biome characterized by, relating to, or requiring only a small amount of moisture
flooded grasslands and savannas a terrestrial biome. Its component ecoregions are generally located at subtropical and tropical latitudes, which are flooded seasonally or year-round. The common name often used is swamp. very wet to saturated soil moisture content in nutrient rich soils.in temperate—warm to tropical—hot climates.
riparian is the interface between land and a river or stream.
wetland is a land area that is saturated with water, either permanently or seasonally, such that it takes on characteristics that distinguish it as a distinct ecosystem
