Leprosy Tuberculoid leprosy  discoloration of skin, loss of sensation.
Lepromatous leprosy  Skin nodules; progressive destruction of facial features, digits, other body parts.

staph food poisoning N&V, cramps, diarrhea; onset is 4-6 hours, recovery is 24 hours.
toxic shock syndrome Sudden onset of fever, chills, vomiting, diarrhea, dark red rash, hypotension, confusion.
Tetanus Progressive spastic paralysis (lockjaw, back spasms, severe muscle contractions). (known in infants as neonatal tetanus)
Botulism Progressive flaccid paralysis, weak, dizzy, blurred vision, GI tract involvement. (known in infants as floppy baby syndrome)
salmonellosis incubation: 8hrs-2days
Diarrhea, N&V, fever, headache, pain, 1-2 weeks
e. coli incubation: 1-3 days
Bloody diarrhea, fatal hemorrhagic colitis, hemolytic uremic syndrome
campylobacter diarrhea incubation: 2-5 days
bloody diarrhea
cholera incubation: 2-3 days
Severe diarrhea, dehydration, hypovolemic shock
syphilis Primary- chanere (small, painless, red, hard lesions)
Secondary- localsystemicwidespread rash (palms and soles of feet too), flu like symptoms
Tertiary- latentgummas (rubbery, swollen lesions), neurological and cardiac symptoms
infants: Congenital Syphilis - miscarriage, stillbirth, birth defects (notched teeth, saber shins, mental retardation), rash.
lyme disease Primary- bite and bulls eye rash, flu like symtoms
Secondary- neurological or cardiac symptoms, hyperactivity, type three or four complement activation
Tertiary- arthritis (hypersensitivity)
