| Hand Lens | used to magnify the image of substances or objects |
| Hot Plate | used to provide heat during a lab |
| Metric Ruler | used to measure length |
| Microscope | used to look at very small specimens |
| Pipette | narrow tube into which fluid is drawn by suction (eye dropper) |
| Probe | used to isolate parts of a specimen |
| Safety Goggles | worn to protect eyes when using chemicals or fire |
| Scissors | used carefully to cut a specimen |
| Stirring Rod | used to help mix substances |
| Test Tube | used to hold and heat small amounts of substances |
