| internal iliac vein | a vein that unites with the external iliac vein to form the common iliac vein |
| external iliac vein | a continuation of the femoral vein; unites with intern. iliac to form common iliac vein |
| femoral vein | Venous return that drains the thigh; joins with the external illiac vein at the pelvis |
| great saphenous vein | joining the femoral vein from the interior portion of the leg, longest vein in the body |
| dorsal venous arch | Venous return that drains the top of the foot into g. & sm. saphenous v. |
| popliteal vein | a vein arising in the knee and ascending to become the femoral vein |
| anterior tibial vein | Venous return that drains the anterior side of the leg; unites with the popliteal vein |
| posterior tibial vein | Venous return that drains the back of the leg |
| small saphenous vein | goes up the lateral side of calf, enter popliteal fossa, where it meets popliteal vein |
