What is a long bone? Bone that's longer than it is wide.
What is a short bone? Bone that are square - just as long as they are short.
What is an irregular bone? An oddly shaped bone that are normally located in the face.
What is are examples of a flat bone? Skull and ribs
What are 4 types of bone cells? Osteogenic, Osteoblasts, Osteocytes, Osteoclasts
What's the difference between compact vs. spongy bones? Compact bones are the hard, outside part of the bone. Spongy bones are spongier part in the middle where the bone marrow is located.
What is ossification? The process by which bone forms
What is bone remodeling? Replacing old bone with new bone tissue
What are the 4 types of fractures? Partial fracture, complete fracture, closed fracture, and open fracture
What's a fracture? Any break in a bone
What are some examples of bones in the axial vs. appendicular skeleton? Axial - skull, spine ribs
Appendicular - limbs: arms, legs, hips, collar bone, scapula
Difference between cranium and facial bones The cranium holds the brain and the facial bones are the bones that form the face.
What is the Hyoid bone? It's the only bone that is almost part of the skull but doesn't touch any other bones and it connects tongue ligaments.
What are the parts of the vertebral column? Cervical, thoracic, lumbard, sacrum, and coccyx
Spine in fetus vs. spine in adult? Fetus spine - 1 curve
Adult spine - 4 curves
What are ribs? Flat bones that are there to protect organs

What is the official name for your kneecap? Patella
Does the male or female have the bigger pelvis? Female
What's another name for the heel bone? Calcaneus
