Determines data class breaks based on gaps in the data set.

Equal Interval

The user must specify the number of classes. This method calculates the data range divided by the number of classes.

Defined Interval

User Determined. The specified range is made equal in each class. The number of classes is revised according to the data range.

Geometric Progression

Varied data range that increases geometrically. Data range starts small and increases dramatically.

Standard Deviation

Calculates the average and standard deviation from the mean within specified ranges. Shows data values relative to the average data value.

Quantiles

Maps an equal number of unit areas in each class. Often resulting in a very large data range in the last class.
