Year it opened, by whom: completed in 1935 by Lloyd Wright who designed the Falling water house for a family who owned a department store. The owner was Edgar J. Kaufmann.
Purpose: Originally made as a house for the Kaufmann family from 1937 until 1963, when it became a museum for people to come and visit.
Cost: $155,000.
Boldt CastleLocation: Boldt Castle is located on Heart island part of the Thousand Islands, St. Lawrence River, NY
Purpose: To be a display of his love for his wife, Louise.

Year built & by whom: Built by George Boldt. Stopped abruptly after the death of wife. Construction resumed in 1977. Only some first floor rooms furnished in 2006. Castle not yet complete.
