Select All As I walk down a forest path, The splashing of water fills my ears, Accompanied by the pattering of droplets Like an endless flood of tears. I step silently into a clearing, I peer into the gloom ahead, The sound of rushing water Is coming around the bend. Spread out before me, Towering large and tall Is a thundering, majestic, Picturesque waterfall. And lapping at the water's edge Stands a lovely pair of deer. I sneak forward on tip-toe To try as I might to get near. I steal behind a boulder, Without making so much as a peep Wishing I had brought a camera— This is a memory I want to keep. Carefully, quietly, Creeping up towards a crack, I lean forward to peer Through the miniscule slat. The deer are shrouded in mist As they finish their drink; They draw near to the wall And slip away through a chink. I sigh as their tails Disappear into the dark, But smile at the memories That soften my heart. I've experienced God's wonders In Creation today; And they were most beautiful, I'm happy to say.
