| hills | start closer together and get smaller towards the top |
| valley | stretched out groove in the land, formed by streams & rivers |
| ridge | sloping line of high ground. closed end points away from the high ground |
| depression | sink hole surrounded by higher grounds on all sides |
| concave slopes | depicted by contour lines that are close together towards the top of the terrain feature and widely spaced towards the top |
| convex slopes | widely spaced towrds the top |
| fall line | is perpendicular to the contour lines. This is the direction water would flow |
