Branches of Government

Executive Branch
A branch of government which manages bureaucracy and enforce the law of a state. A head of state (e.g. President) which has authority to control military power. Executive branch can only act within the powers and limits set by law.

Executive Branch A branch of government which manages bureaucracy and enforce the law of a state. A head of state (e.g. President) which has authority to control military power. Executive branch can only act within the powers and limits set by law.
Legislative Branch A branch of government which is able to set a law. It includes parliaments and congress. It has the authority to raise or lower taxes. Legislative branch creates the law but cannot enforce them.
Judicial Branch A branch of government which works by the system of court (Supreme or Constitutional Court). Cases are applied in the name of the state. Judicial branch is unable to change the law.
Supreme Court Highest court within the hierarchy of any legal jurisdiction. Administration of justice in civil, criminal and administrative matters in accordance with the rules of law.
House of Lords Upper house of the parliament of the United Kingdom. (Lower house = House of Common)
