| Confundo | Causes confusion. A person who is affected by this Charm is said to be Confunded. |
| Crucio | One of the "Unforgivable Curses," this spell causes the victim to suffer almost intolerable pain. Some victims of prolonged use of this curse have been driven insane. A victim of this curse is said to have been Cruciated. |

| Episkey | Heals/repairs damage that has been inflicted on the target. |
| Erecto (BAHAHA) | Straightens out the target object and sets it up. (BAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA) |
| Evanesco | Makes something vanish. |
| Expecto Patronum | Conjures a Patronus, a silvery phantom shape, usually that of an animal, which is the embodiment of the positive thoughts of the caster. A Patronus will drive THE DEMENTORS. |
| Expelliarmus | Causes opponent's weapon to fly out of his or her hand. The opponent is then said to have been Disarmed. |
| Expulso | Blows up the target. |
| Fiendfyre | Cursed fire, made up of flames of abnormal size and heat that can crumble fairly substantial objects to soot at a mere touch. Left burning long enough, the fire will take the shapes of gigantic fiery beasts including serpents, chimaeras, dragons, and birds of prey which will pursue any target humans. |

| Flagrate | Creates a burning, fiery line in the air which can be "drawn" with the wand into specific shapes. The shape lingers for some time. |

| Homenum revelio | Reveals human presence in the target area. |
| Impedimenta | This powerful spell is capable of tripping, freezing, binding, knocking back and generally impeding the target's progress towards the caster. |
| Imperio | Causes the victim of the curse to obey the spoken/unspoken commands of the caster. |
| Impervius | This spell makes something repel literally, become impervious to substances and outside forces, including water. |

| Langlock | Glues the victim's tongue to the roof of his/her mouth. |
| Legilimens | Allows the caster to delve into the mind of the victim, allowing the caster to see the memories, thoughts, and emotions of the victim. |
| Levicorpus | The victim is dangled upside-down by one of his/her ankles, |
| Lumos | Creates a narrow beam of light that shines from the wand's tip. |
| Muffliato | Keeps nearby people, or those to whom the wand is directed, from hearing nearby conversations.[ |
| Nox | Counter charm to the Lumos spell. |
| Obliviate | Causing erasing of memory. |
| Obscuro | Causes a blindfold to appear over the victim's eyes, obstructing his/her view of his/her surroundings. |
| Orchideous | Makes a bouquet of flowers appear out of the caster's wand. |
| Petrificus Totalus | Used to temporarily bind the victim's body in a position much like that of a soldier at attention; this spell does not restrict breathing or seeing, and the victim will usually fall to the ground. |
| Piertotum Locomotor | Spell used to animate statues and suits of armour to do the caster's bidding. |
| Protego | The Shield Charm causes minor to strong jinxes, curses, and hexes to rebound upon the attacker, or at least prevents them from having their full effect. |
| Relashio | A charm used to force someone or something to release that which it holds or grapples by means of shooting fiery sparks out or, underwater, shooting hot bursts of water. |
| Reparo | Used to repair broken or damaged objects. |
| Rictusempra | The subject experiences the sensation of being tickled |

| Sectumsempra | Violently wounds the target; described as being as though the subject had been "slashed by a sword". |
