Muslim League a group formed by Muslims in India in 1906 to protect their rights. Mohandes Gandhi he encouraged his followers to use nonviolence to resist the British and bring about social change in India. He wanted equal rights for all Indians. Mahatma means "Great Soul" and this is what the Indian people called Gandhi. Indians honor him as the father of their nation.
