| reservoir | A large artificial body of water used to store water to water plant life (irrigation) or in the generation of hydroelectric power |
| river | A large body of fresh water that starts at a source in high land and moves to lower land, carrying water to its mouth |
| sound | A long wide body of water connecting two larger bodies of water |
| tributary | A stream or smaller river that flows into a larger river |
| valley | Low lying land between hills or mountains |
| gulf | A large area if sea or ocean that lies within a curved coast line |
| latitude | measurment of distance in degrees north and south of the equator |
| longatude | measurment of distance east and west of the Prime Meridian |
