Pharynx throat
Epiglottis flap that covers trachea so food does not enter respiratory system
Enzyme amylase enzyme in saliva that breaks down the polysaccharides into disaccharides
Esophagus bolus is swallowed and moves down using peristaltic motion
Stomach churns bolus into chyme; releases pepsin which begins chemical breakdown of proteins
Duodenum where most of chemical digestion occurs

Liver produces bile which takes a large fat molecule and breaks it down into a smaller molecule
