Aphasia an absence or impairment of the ability to communicate through speech, writing, or signs.
Feedback in any form of communication an indication to the sender whether the receiver got the message that the sender intended.
Metric SystemThe most widely used method of measurement in pharmacy. It is based on counting by 10s. The basic units of measure in this are the gram (g) and the liter (L). The dosage of a drug is usually given in milligrams (mg). Liquid medications are often measured in milliliters (mL). The client's weight is often measured in kilograms (kg).
Nonverbal Communication form of expression in which words are not used.
Objective Comments remarks based on facts, not on opinions or perceptions.
Verbal Communication a form of expression in which spoken or written words are used.
5.Cover Letter a letter in which an applicant briefly introduces himself or herself to a prospective employer. Often accompanies a resume.
Discrimination In hiring situations, making distinctions based on factors such as age or race. Most organizations that comply with accepted hiring practices will not make such distinctions.
Networking The regular communication a person has with professional and personal contacts. It is one way of finding a job.
Resume a brief representation of the credentials of an applicant for a job.
Aggressive Personality a type of personality characterized by putting one's needs ahead of the needs of others. People with this personality tend to push others out of the way in order to get what they want.
Assertive Personality a type of personality characterized by standing up for ones rights while recognizing and respecting the rights and needs of others.
Diversity a difference in age, gender, race, ethnicity, physical ability, and a whole host of other characteristics. To respect it in other human beings means to accept the right of others to be different from you.
Passive Personality a type of personality characterized by putting the needs of others ahead of one's own needs, even when doing so is harmful to the person.
Sexual Harassment unwanted communication or act of a sexual nature.
Stereotype to make generalizations about a group or individual based on preconceived biases.
