Martin Luther was overly zealous and intense about doing what he can to be saved in his early life, but then was pretty much awakened after reading the bible translations. In the translations it said "The just shall be saved by faith alone" Claims that indulgences don't help one be saved. 1519 debate w/Johann Eck in Leipzig. Martin Luther was excommunicated for burning papal Bull in 1520. Made the "here I stand speech" at the diet of worms. Charles V wanted Luther dead, so he is protected by Duke of Saxony in Wartburg when Luther translates bible into German. |

| Diet of Worms(1521) | A German town, in which Martin Luther and his views on Protestant reformation were dealt with. It lasted a little less then 4 months starting on January 28th and ending on May 25th 1521. Martin Luther said that he would not take back what he said... so he was excommunicated by the pope and Charles V put a randsom on his head. |
