WHAT ARE THE 4 MARKS OF THE CHURCH AND WHAT DO THEY MEAN
One: There is only one Church. All the members of it are characterized by unity. Although many of its members come from different parts of the world, they all are unified under the Church. Its source of unity is the Trinity.
Holy: The Church is holy because God created her. The Church is connected to Christ.
Catholic: The Church is Catholic in two senses. First, she is catholic because Christ is present in her. She possesses the fullness of Christ and the total means of salvation. Second, she has been sent on a mission by Christ to all people in the world to gather all into the People of God.
Apostolic: The Church is Apostolic because she was build on the foundation of the Apostles, who lived and were taught by Jesus; the church preserves and hands on the teaching of the Apostles and their successors; and the church continues to be taught, made holy, and led by the Apostles through their successors.

WHAT DOES IT MEAN THAT THE CHURCH IS INFALLIBLE The Church's infallibility means the gift given by the Holy Spirit to the Pope and the bishops in union with him to teach on matter of faith and morals without error. The Church's teachings are without error.
WHAT DOES IT MEAN TO SAY WE ARE THE "SALT OF THE EARTH" God calls us the Salt of the Earth. In reality, salt is the most necessary and tastiest spice. When mixed in foods, it brings out the good tastes of other ingredients. Like this, we are the salt of the earth. We bring out the true goodness in ourselves and in others.
WHAT DO WE AS LAYPEOPLE NEED TO DOAs the laity, we are called to spread the Good News of the Kingdom of God. In anything that we do, whether it be a job or being a student in school, we should act in a way that spreads this good news. Our relationship with Christ affects how we do this. We should always keep a good relationship with him so we can do what he wants us to do.
WHAT IS APOSTOLIC SUCCESSION Apostolic Succession is the uninterrupted passing down of apostolic preachings and authority directly to all bishops. It is accomplished by the laying on of hands in Holy Orders. We can be sure that the teachings that the Apostles wanted us to know are still being preached by the current bishops.
