Sarcomere

A contracting unit of muscles; Z line to Z line

Z disc

is the boundary of sarcomere, they separate one sacomere from the next, formed by structural proteins.

A band

of thick filaments extends the entire length of the thick filaments- form the darken middle length.

zone of overlap

both thick and thin filaments- where the thick and thin filaments lie side by side.

I band

is thin filament- is lighter and z disc runs through it.

H zone

only thick filaments sub set of A band.

M line

(in center) is the middle of H zone also composed of structural proteins.
