adverbs word used to modify a verb,adjective, or another adverb
adverbs answer where,when,how,to what extent
advers often end in -ly
adverbs are located before or after word the modify
adverb answering where? example Let's go INSIDE.
adverb answering when? example We can leave NOW.
adverb answering how? example The alarm rang WILDLY.
adverb answering to what extent? example She HARDLY noticed.
prepositions word used to show the relationship of a noun or pronoun to some other word in the sentence
preposition example we hung the picture BESIDE the sofa.(sofa is object of preposition)
conjunctions words used to join words or groups of words
coordinating conjunctions connect items of the same kind (and,but,for,nor,or,so,yet)
correlative conjunction connect items of the same kind in pairs (both...and, either...or, neither...nor, not only...but also,whether...or)
Interjections word used to express emotion and that has no grammatical relation to the rest of the sentence (Hooray,oh,wow)
