intermediate directions | the four directions that lie between the major or cardinal directions North-east, North-west, south-east, south-west |
international date line | The line of longitude 180 degrees east and west of the prime meridian along which the date changes by one day. , An imaginary line that for the most part follows 180° longitude. When you cross the International Date Line heading east (toward America), the clock moves back 24 hours, or one entire day. When you go west (toward Asia), the calendar moves ahead one day. |
