Primary Info. | Information that has been gatehred for a specific purpose. E.g. Questionnaires |
Secondary Info. | Desk research, second hand information which is already collected for you |
Data. | A collection of facts and figures |
Information. | Data that has been turned into a meaningful form |
Quantitative Info. | Is figures, and it is measurable. E.g. Sales Figures |
Qualitative Info. | Is a value of judgement. E.g. Opinions on favourite sweeties |
Internal Info. | Collected by the organisation and held within their organisation. E.g. Sales Figures |
External Info. | Found outwith the organisation. It can be collected from the internet, government stats, trade journals and newspapers. |
Good informaton. | Accurate, Available, Comprehensible, cost effiective, Up-To-Date, Free from Bias. |
Strategic. | Long Term, Complex, Made by Senior/Cheif Managers. |
Tactical. | Medium term, Less complex and non routine. |
Operational. | Simple, and routine(happens every day), made by the lowest level of managemant. |
Input. | Email in orders or request, fax can be used to recieve drawings etc. |
Process. | Record Customer information in a database, create sales charts/figures in a spreadsheet, creating letters voa WP, enter appoints in eDairy... all these improve efficiency and production |
Output. | Email customers/staff, prepare presentations to give to customers/ staff using powerpoint |
