Master Shot

covers a scene from beginning to end, usually wide shot

Wide Shot

shows entire or most of the scene, establishes a sense of location, good for showing action

Medium Shot

Head to stomach or waste, good for conversations

Close Up

frames head and shoulders, shows emotion, reaction

Insert

close up of a very specific location, drops in middle of action (aka: cut away)

Two Shot

two people in a shot, usually conversation
