Definitions

Complementary angles Two angles whose sum is 90 degrees (right angle). Each of the two angles are called complements of the other
Supplementary angles Two angles whose sum is 180 degrees (straight angle). Each of the two angles are called the supplements of the other
perpendicular Lines, rays, or segments that intersect at right angles (90 degrees)
Vertical angles non-adjacent angles forrmed when two lines intersect
opposite rays two collinear rays that have a common endpoint and extend in opposite directions.
CPCTC Corresponding Parts of Congruent Triangles are Congruent
radius a segment tfrom the center of the circle to a point on the edge of the circle
Median of a Triangle a line segmeny drawn from any vertex of the triangle to the midpoint of the opposite side
Altitude of a Triangle a line segment drawn from any vertex of the triangle to the opposite side, extends if necessary, and is perpendicular to that side
Acute Triangle A triangle in which all angles are acute
Obtuse Triangle A triangle in which one of the angles is obtuse
Isosceles Triangle A triangle in which atleast two sides are congruent
Equilateral Triangle A triangle in which all sides are congruent
Scalene Triangle A triangle which no two sides are congruent
Distance The distance between 2 objects is the length of the shortest path joining them
Perpendicular Bisector (of segment) Line that bisects and is perpendicular to the segment
Theorem 24 If 2 points are each equidistant from the endpoints of a segment, then the 2 points determine the perpendicular bisector of that segment
Theorem 25 If a point is on the perpendicular bisector of a segment, then it is equidistant from the endpoints of that segment
