Terms	Definitions
NADP+	Major electron carrier that is reduced to NADPH
Electron Transport	An electron transport chain (ETC) couples electron transfer between an electron donor (such as NADH) and an electron acceptor (such as O2) with the transfer of H+ ions (protons) across a membrane. The resulting electrochemical proton gradient is used to generate chemical energy in the form of adenosine triphosphate (ATP)

stroma	definition: fluid-filled space outside the grana in which light-dependent reactions take place.
Carbohydrate	Definition: any of a class of organic compounds that are polyhydroxy aldehydes or polyhydroxy ketones, or change to such substances on simple chemical transformations, as hydrolysis, oxidation, or reduction, and that form the supporting tissues of plants and are important food for animals and people.
Pigment	Definition: Light-absorbing colored molecules. Found in the thylakoid membranes of chloroplasts.
Calvin Cycle	Definition: A series of chemical reactions, occurring during photosynthesis, in which glucose is synthesized from Carbon Dioxide
