Description

Here are the 127 words that Mme did not define in the packet. Please make comments and edits. Also, I'm not sure all my definitions are context-specific. And as far as studying for the quiz, someone should make a set of the other 170 words that are already defined.

Jenkins : farouche is better defined in context as wild, or fierce
Jenkins : I think that pommette refers more to the "apple" of one's cheek hence the "pomme"
Jenkins : craquele = crackled not cracked
Jenkins : Wait halfway through the list I can no longer figure out what scenes the words are from. I think she is testing us on vocab we have yet to read and that is tres, tres lame.
Jenkins : Changed les pommettes (g) → the cheekbones (f) to les pommettes (f) → the cheekbones (g)
Jenkins : Changed les pâturages (g) → the pastures (m) to les pâturages (m) → the pastures (g)
Jenkins : Changed les paillettes (g) → the sparkles, spangles, sequins (f) to les paillettes (f) → the sparkles, spangles, sequins (g)
Jenkins : Changed l'aine (g) → the groin (f) to l'aine (f) → the groin (g)
Jenkins : Changed s'agglutiner → to crown together to s'agglutiner → to stick together
btaller8 : are you missing any, cause i think i counted 129 total. i'll check, maybe i was wrong
btaller8 : hmm, are these words she gave us in chronological order?
btaller8 : cause if not, she really can't expect us to locate them in context
btaller8 : add: "les flamboyants" before "maladif"
btaller8 : its at the end of the list, cause i can't insert in its correct spot
btaller8 : s'enbournber = s'enbourber
btaller8 : corrected "le dénument" to "le dénuement"
btaller8 : hmmm, well, i added 1 word, but you also split one of your definitions (#115) into two: 115."un affaisement", 116. "s'affaiser"
btaller8 : so i guess my count was just off
btaller8 : added "etre a l'affut" = to lie in wait
btaller8 : i put several of the "Benoit definitions" in parenthesis, so they can be ignored during a quizlet "learn mode"
btaller8 : new def for "grele"
btaller8 : ppl, please check all of these previously undefined words if you can
allison : for Masai you could just say Masai... its the tribe you described, but in english it's just 'Masai'... my definitions are all pretty much the same as yours, just different words to describe the same things
allison : brian's right about the scarf one-- i got "to hit broadside"
allison : chetive can also be 'sickly', but 'puny' works too so i wont change it.... its so good that you made this list cuz we'll actually all be able to agree on one definition for each word-- good plan!! <3
allison : un barrissement --> the cry of an elephant
