|Tabula Rasa||Locke's belief that everyone is born with a blank mind.|
|Philosophes||The intellectuals of the Enlightenment, they were literary people, professors, journalists, statesman, ecnomists, political scientists, and social reformers.|
|Salons||Usually ran by women, where the philosophes gathered for discussions on problems and topics about reform and the Enlightenment.|
