Suffrage The right to vote in public elections; a vote or the act of voting.
Philanthropy A desire to improve the material, social, and spiritual welfare of humanity, especially through charitable activities; general love for, or benevolence toward, the whole of humankind
Churlish Characteristic of somebody with bad manners; surly, sullen, or miserly
Titular Having a particular title, rank, or position, but not possessing the power or exercising the functions usually associated with it; holding a title of rank.
Alacrity A promptness or eager and speed readiness
Squalor Shabbiness and dirtiness resulting from poverty or neglect; a state of moral degradation.
Scourge Somebody or something that is perceived as an agent of punishment, destruction, or severe
Robust Strong, healthy and hardy in constitution; built, constructed, or designed to be sturdy, durable, or hard-wearing.
Importune To ask somebody continually, repeatedly, or forcefully for something, especially in a troublesome way; to ask somebody to have sexual relations in exchange for money.
Superfluous In excess of what is needed; not essential
Inherent Part of the very nature of something, and therefore permanently characteristic of it or necessarily involved in it
Deprecate To express condemnation of something or somebody
Capitulate To surrender, especially under agreed conditions; to give in to an argument, request, pressure, or something unavoidable
Penitent Expressing or feeling regret or sorrow for having committed sins or misdeeds
Absolve To state publicly or officially that somebody is not guilty and not to be held responsible; to release somebody from an obligation or requirement.
