nucleus The control center of the cell, which directs all the cell's activities.
chromosomes A structure in the cell that provides instructions for all the activities and traits of the cell and the organism.
nuclear membrane A membrane that surrounds the nucleus of a cell and controls the materials passing into and out of it.
DNA A complex chemical that contains information about every part of an organism.
