carterhelschien : ($5.00 and hour)
carterhelschien : ...anythin? i can help u
franklampard : k, what was the domain
franklampard : the 1/3 where the lord lived?
carterhelschien : the lord/king would keep 1/3 of the entire land for himself, and give the 2/3 of it to the vassal
carterhelschien : sorry, 2/3 to the serfs, and of that 2/3 a vassal would have a portion, known as the fief
carterhelschien : the lord granted the fief to the vassal (he would say, okay, of this 2/3, take this piece)
franklampard : so a lord owns 1/3 or the domain, then some part belonged to the vassal on which serfs live don
franklampard : right
franklampard : is the think about the fallow important
carterhelschien : yes, their would be 3 fields (fallows)
carterhelschien : 2 out of the 3 would have crops, while the 3rd replenished its nutrients
carterhelschien : once it did, the crops would rotate, so that field 2 could replenish, and fallows 1 and 3 would hav the crops
carterhelschien : and so on and so forth
franklampard : theres three or 4 fallows, or it can be any number
carterhelschien : any number, but a majority of the time it was 3 or 4
franklampard : o and i got the hierarchy question its like this: King and queen then church officials and nobles then knights and then knights
franklampard : o, and a vassal was a noble
franklampard : and a serf was not
franklampard : if i have more questions can i ask u tmrw during study haLL?
carterhelschien : k but ur total so far is...$15.47
carterhelschien : ill put it on ur tab...
franklampard : i didnt talk to u for three hours
hippydude323 : hey carter u sure this all we need to no
carterhelschien : no im not sure...try readin the txtbook and ull be good! lol
samtoffler : Your answer to the question about fallow land isn't really clear. Within the crop roation, one of the fields would be fallow meaning it was kept empty so that the soil could regain its nutrients
