Simile Comparison using LIKE or AS
Metaphor Directly comparing two objects.
Personification Giving obj. human traits
Alliteration Repetition of same first letter of sound in 2 or more words (Peter Piper Picked a Peck of Pickled Peppers)
Rhyme Scheme Pattern in which a rhyme occurs
Refrain repetition of one or more phrases on lines at intervals in a poem. Usually at end of staanza
