| needle | thread is placed throught the eye of the needle through the front. the needle takes the thread down through the needle plate to from stitches |
| thread spool holder | holds the spool of thread while you stitch, and allows the thread to feed evenly |
| presser foot lever | raises and lowers the presser foot into position |
